.: Meet our Staff! :.

Dr. Kathleen Saradarian, MD, grew up in Morris County, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychobiology from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, where she graduated cum laude. She then went on to Medical School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. This was followed with her Resident Training at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, NJ in Family Medicine. When she completed her Residency, she joined Dr. Linda Vickery in practice in Sussex, NJ where they formed Sussex Family Practice. They were in practice together from 1990 to 2003. In 2003, they decided to go in separate directions and try something new for themselves. That is when Dr. Saradarian formed Quality Family Practice.

Since 1990, Dr. Saradarian has maintained her affiliation with what is now called Saint Clares Medical Center-Sussex Campus (it has had several names). This is the only hospital at which she currently holds privileges.
Her practice is mostly paperless utilizing an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) called Practice Partner, and now her history-taking tool called Instant Medical History. This allows her access to your records and results from anywhere: she and her laptop have Internet access. Everything is backed up onto a tape taken off site so your information can not be lost.
Other than her career, Dr. Saradarian also enjoys her family, her husband and daughter, and their 3 dogs. Her husband is a farrier; her daughter is currently entering Middle School, and writing a movie. The dogs are good entertainment. They enjoy taking their riding lessons together and travel.

Kim Burse is our daytime receptionist. She has a lot of responsibilities. She manages the phones, and all people walking through the door and is responsible for verifying all contact information and insurance information as well as getting appropriate paperwork signed. She also sets up the Instant Medical History program for the next patient to start. In between these responsibilities she also files, disperses faxes and messages, retrieves messages off the answering machine, writes the occasional referral, calls for preauthorizations for medications and radiologic studies, makes sun tea (if the weather is appropriate) and usually makes sure the doctor has a drink available (non-alcoholic of course), and usually with a smile on her face. So, sometimes Kim just can’t answer your call if doing something that can’t be interrupted. Please be patient and leave a message. She always gets back to you. You can e-mail Kim directly with appointment requests or follow up of something she is working on @ . Debra Carbery is our biller/insurance champion. She has a really difficult job. She is charged with collecting payment for services already given. She does it well and does it with a friendly and pleasant manner; and fortunately, most of the arguing and fighting she does is with your healthplans and not you, the patient. She will sometimes need your help with this, however. Remember, that it is your healthplan and we are just someone looking for payment, you are the customer that they need to please. There are some things only you can appeal and be responsible for. So if Debra gives you a task, please do it. If you have any questions or billing problems, please contact her; don’t stay silent. (She doesn’t bite.....often.) Debra is in the office from 10-3 on most days that we are open. She is also available by e-mail @: . Carol Corter is our receptionist/referral specialist. This is Carol’s second job. She doesn’t come in until 4 PM. Her primary job is the same as Kim’s above. She manages the phones, and all people walking through the door. She is responsible for verifying all contact information and insurance information as well as getting appropriate paperwork signed. She also sets up the Instant Medical History program for the next patient to start. In between these responsibilities she also files, disperses faxes and messages, retrieves messages off the answering machine and processes most referral requests, and calls for preauthorizaitons for medications and radiologic studies. Preauthorizations can generally only be processed from 9AM-5PM. This is why, we request 7 days advanced notice for referrals. She only has an opportunity to do these when she gets a break in her job as receptionist or if she stays late after hours; she can’t stay late every day. There is limited time to get on the phone and request preauthorizations before the healthcare organization closes for the day. We have to work within the parameters we are given. Please be patient and cooperative. Carol is also available by e-mail for referral requests @ .
